I have known Brandon's family since I was a baby. I was so happy when his bride to be at the time reached out for family & engagement pictures! I met his twin boys and his bride to be at the shoot. They were all so sweet and we had a great time with beautiful memories. A few months later I get a message from Alura again, this time asking me to capture their intimate wedding! I was so excited and happy for their family! They got married at the gorgeous and elegant W.K. Kellogg Manor House in Hickory Corners, Michigan. They were surrounded by their closest family & friends. It was a beautiful day & the weather was great for February in Michigan. Enjoy their story & images below!
I was welcome by Danae, who showed me where the Bride & Groom and their families & friends would be getting ready when they arrived. The rooms were stunning. Gorgeous windows with beautiful light! And a beautiful library/office. It has an old time vintage feel. Alura, her mom, and best friend arrived first. She looked beautiful, with her hair curled and make up done already! Her dress was so simple and sweet. Her boots were killer, and she wanted to show case them! (see images for those!!) I took a quick photo of her dress before her mom started to help her in it! Her mom was so sweet and excited for her daughter. You could see the love in her eyes and she delicately zipped her in her dress and tied her dress string in a bow. And they hugged so sweetly. The tears were hard to fight back at that point. Alura's best friend, Alora helped her get her hair piece in and shared in the moment with them. Alura then put on her rocking boots, and laced them up to go!
Brandon & his family had the task of getting him and his boys ready! He forgot his shirt to go under his suit! So it was a race to the clock for his sister to run to his house and get it so he could finish getting ready! His father Ron and his sisters helped the boys get ready with dad! They both looked absolutely adorable and were as sweet as pie! Flower girl Ava was beautiful and ready to go already! The boys watched as daddy was getting ready! But also had a moment to go see Alura before the big event!
And right before the ceremony, Alura got to do a sweet first look with her dad! His smile was so big!
The ceremony was sweet and intimate. Frames in front row seats sat there with pictures of Brandon's mom and Alura's Papa who have both passed, but were there in spirit. They wanted to make sure they were represented and there on their special day. Brandon's father Ron married them, and he couldn't be happier for them. He expressed how proud of the man Brandon has become. And what a great father he is. He shared his joy for Alura coming in to their lives and being a great mother to the twins and how happy they all are for their baby boy on the way! The couple shared their own vows. The guests laughed and cried with them. The room was so filled with love and joy. They were FINALLY husband & wife!
Life with toddler boys. When you just want 'nice family photos', you get real life, and they're EVEN BETTER! These boys are the BEST!
While signing the marriage certificate, Alura said that they SAW each other there for the FIRST time. She had just finished chemo after kicking breast cancer's a** and he was a DJ at a wedding! Brandon let out that they met and he went to say goodbye and she hugged him. He said he knew there he had to have more! Through the power of social media, they connected. And now have a baby boy on the way and already have such a beautiful family. They were always smiling with each other and goofing around. It was so playful, yet so sweet! Their portraits turned out amazing! They left for dinner with their closest family & friends that were there! They're currently in Jamaica on their HONEYMOON and I'm sooo JEALOUS!!
